The backend only needs gene ENSEMBL IDs. However, the client requires providing both gene ENSEMBL IDs and symbols. We should make gene symbols an optional input.

  • Make gene symbols optional in the input AnnData files
  • Update the documentation and quickstart tutorial accordingly
