Vorbereitung

mini 3

Stelle sicher, dass ein Programm mit aktivem Bluetooth auf dem mini vorhanden ist. Dies kann jedes aus MakeCode für den mini 3 kompilierte Programm sein.

Beachte, dass einige Erweiterungen wie Funk/Radio oder JacDac die Nutzung von Bluetooth im Benutzerprogramm deaktivieren. Aber das Starten des DFU-Modus und das Übertragen eines Programms während des aktiven DFU-Modus sollte weiterhin funktionieren (siehe Einschränkungen unten für Details).

mini 1 und mini 2

Stelle sicher, dass ein Programm mit aktivem Bluetooth und den richtigen Bluetooth-Einstellungen vorhanden ist. Dies kann ein Programm aus MakeCode sein, bei dem die Erweiterung »one-time-pairing« enthalten ist.

Auf deinem Android-Gerät

Wenn du beim Koppeln Probleme hast, entferne alle Bindungen für den Calliope, den du koppeln möchtest, in den Bluetooth-Einstellungen deines Geräts. Es kann auch hilfreich sein, einen sauberen Start zu erhalten, indem du den App-Cache-Speicher löschst.

Verwendung

Nach dem Koppeln sollte es möglich sein, alle Arten von Programmen zu übertragen.

Es gibt zwei Einschränkungen:

• Das Programm muss den BLE-Stack enthalten, um Programme kontinuierlich ohne Interaktion mit dem Calliope übertragen zu können. Ein Programm mit deaktiviertem BLE-Stack wird übertragen, aber es wird nicht möglich sein, ein weiteres Programm ohne Starten des DFU-Modus zu übertragen. Einige Erweiterungen wie Funk oder JacDac deaktivieren BLE. Wenn dein mini ohne BLE kommt, sollte es ausreichen, A+B+Reset zu drücken, um in den DFU-Modus zu booten und ein neues Programm zu übertragen.
• Aufgrund von RAM-Beschränkungen sind Programme für den Calliope mini 1 immer deaktiviertem BLE-Stack. Daher musst du vor jedem Transfer A+B+Reset drücken, um in den DFU-Modus zu booten.

Koppeln

• Starte den Calliope mini im DFU-Modus (Anzeige des Bluetooth-Musters) durch Drücken von AB+Reset oder Dreifach-Reset (mini 3).
• Tippe auf die schwebende Aktionsschaltfläche und öffne den Musterdialog.
• Zeichne das Muster.
• Tippe auf die grüne Schaltfläche mit dem Wellen-Symbol oder auf "Ja", je nachdem, was angezeigt wird.
• Das Popup schließt sich.
• WARTEN
• Das Gerät fordert dich auf, das Koppeln zu bestätigen. Öffne den Dialog und bestätige.
• Der Calliope zeigt ein Häkchen auf dem Bildschirm an.
• Drücke die Reset-Taste am Calliope oder warte, bis der Calliope automatisch zurückgesetzt wird (kann einige Zeit dauern).

Wenn der Calliope ein Kreuz auf dem Bildschirm anzeigt, gab es ein Problem beim Koppeln. Versuche es erneut, indem du mit "Starte den Calliope mini im DFU-Modus" beginnst.

Übertragung

• Du solltest jetzt in der Lage sein, Programme auf deinen Calliope mini zu übertragen.
• Wenn du einen Calliope mini 1 oder 2 mit wechselnden Geräten verwendest: Denke daran, zum Schluss ein Programm mit den richtigen BLE-Kopplungseinstellungen zu übertragen, um beim nächsten Mal koppeln zu können. Andernfalls müsstest du ein solches Programm vor dem nächsten Koppeln übertragen (entweder mit einem Programm aus dem Flash auf mini 2 oder über USB). Calliope 1 und 2 Geräte müssen die Erweiterung »one-time-pairing« geladen haben, um mit Android-Geräten koppelbar zu sein - iOS-Geräte benötigen dies nicht.

Preparation

mini 3

Make sure to have a program with active Bluetooth on the mini. That can be any program from MakeCode compiled for the mini 3.

Note, that some extension like radio/funk or JacDac disable the usage of bluetooth in the user program, but starting the DFU mode and transfering a program while dfu mode is active should still work (see limitations below for details).

mini 1 and mini 2

Make sure to have a program with active Bluetooth and proper Bluetooth settings. This can be a program from MakeCode where the extension »one-time-pairing« is included.

On your android device

If you experience any issues while pairing, make sure to remove any bonding for the Calliope you want to pair in the Bluetooth settings of your device. It might also help to get a clean start to delete the app cache storage from the App Info.

Usage

After the bonding is done it should be possible to transfer all kinds of programs.

There are two limitations:

• The program have to contain the BLE Stack to be able to contiunuosly transfer programs without interaction with the calliope. A programm with disabled BLE Stack will be transfered, but it will not be possible to transfer another program without starting the dfu mode then. Some extensions like radio/funk or JacDac will disable BLE. if you are in a situtation, where your mini comes without BLE it should be enough to pres A+B+Reset to booth into DFU mode and transfer a new program.
• Due to RAM limitations the Calliope mini 1 always comes without the BLE Stack loaded. Therefore you have to press A+B+Reset to boot into the DFU mode before EACH transfer.

Pairing

• Boot the Calliope mini in DFU mode (showing the Bluetooth pattern) by pressing AB+Reset or Tripple-Reset (mini 3)
• Tab on the floating action button and open the pattern dialogue
• Draw the pattern
• Tab on the Green button showing sowing the wave-icon or on "yes", depending on what you see
• The popup closes.
• WAIT
• The device will ask you to confirm the pairing. Open the dialogue and confirm.
• The Calliope will show a checkmark on its screen.
• Press reset on the calliope or wait for the calliope to reset automatically (can take some time)

If the calliope shows a cross on the screen there was an issue while pairing. Try again by starting with "Boot the Calliope mini in DFU mode"

Transfer

• You should now be able to transfer programs to your Calliope mini
• If you are using a Calliope mini 1 or 2 with changing Devices: Remember to transfer a Program with propper BLE Pairing settings at the end, to be able to pair next time. Otherwise you would have to transfer such a program before the next pairing (using a program from the flash on mini 2 or transfer via USB). Calliope 1 and 2 devices need to have the Extension »one-time-pairing« loaded to be pairable for Android devices - iOS devices dont.
