Energy is a property of objects, transferable among them via fundamental interactions, which can be converted in form but not created or destroyed. The ability of a system (physical/conceptual) to do work on other systems (physical/conceptual).
Cultural Definition
The impetus behind all motion and all activity.
The capacity to do work.
(physics) A quantity that denotes the ability to do work and is measured in a unit dimensioned in mass × distance²/time² (ML²/T²) or the equivalent.
#### Units:
SI: joule (J), kilowatt-hour (kW·h)
CGS: erg (erg)
Customary: foot-pound-force, calorie, kilocalorie (i.e. dietary calories), BTU, liter-atmosphere, ton of TNT
(New Age jargon) An intangible, modifiable force (often characterized as either 'positive' or 'negative') believed to emanate from a person, place or thing and which is (or can be) preserved and transferred in human interactions; shared mood or group habit; a vibe, a feeling, an impression.
Pattern Expression
Energy is a pattern that is applicable anywhere in Existence.
Energy in a conceptual system. An example is the energy in a model of a physical system.
Conceptual Energy can be expanded to mean attention energy applied to an abstraction in a conceptual system. For example, Jesus has plenty of conceptual energy in Christianity because much attention energy is applied to the abstraction Jesus.
