Surface Pro Touch Screen not working

I love the API and was going to implement this in my new project. After getting the demo working I was pretty excited to use it on my project platform which is a windows based tablet (surface pro 7).
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to use its touch capabilities to grab onto the corners and turn the pages "manually". It although works if I just tap on the corners and it will turn the page with the default animation.
I assume that the 10 point touch technology is different from iPad/iPhone or even mouse cursor input.
Any idea what I could do to make this work?
