Also the fact that the Standard Model could accurately predict the properties of matter all the way back to a fraction of a second after the Big Bang while being a patchwork of several theories that described forces is remarkable... (although things got really awkward with graviton smh). One physicist even compared it to taping a platypus, an aardvark, and a whale together and declaring it to be nature’s most elegant creature lmao.
You explained it really well for a layperson. Very informative man!
