Every time I start Keka following popup message shows up:

I click on the Give Access button and navigate to my home directory and click again on the Give Access button. This problem started happening after upgrading to Mojave.

Keka v1.1.4

Hi @bisherbas! Can you remove the access and add it again using the File Access Preferences panel?

test

Sometimes after a macOS upgrade or a disk change the file access is no more valid and needs to be removed.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi there! Thanks for the response. I did what you asked but it did not make any difference. Every time I launch Keka, the same popup message in the OP shows up.

After quiting Keka and relaunching it (before giving Home Access):

@bisherbas can you remove the "Home folder access" element from the list, restart your Mac and try this again? Maybe the system banned Keka from permanent file access for your current session.

@bisherbas I'm not sure if you replied editing your last comment, did you've tried restarting your Mac?

If even then if fails, please enable the default console log mode and let me know what Keka prints in the Console.app when you remove/add file access and when the popup shows.

@aonez Yes I am able to remove the "home folder access" but removing and re-adding it doesn't make any difference meaning that next time I launch Keka it still requests home access. I did reboot several times and rebooting did not have any effect. Please see the Console output relevant to Keka:

error	20:56:56.073218 -0400	Keka	Couldn't read values in CFPrefsPlistSource<0x600000c88ee0> (Domain: com.aone.keka, User: kCFPreferencesCurrentUser, ByHost: No, Container: (null), Contents Need Refresh: Yes): accessing preferences outside an application's container requires user-preference-read or file-read-data sandbox access

This is weird. Did you get Keka from the website https://www.keka.io?

Try deleting the Keka container first: #304 (comment)

Yes I did get Keka from the website. Deleted the Keka container and rebooted my Mac. Still the same :(

@bisherbas do you have any special Mac configuration? Maybe a hackintosh?

Try this test version, I'm not sure it will solve this issue though: http://t.keka.io/Keka-r2952-fr.7z

@aonez. It's just a Macbook Air. I have removed Keka and installed the linked test version. Problem appears to have been resolved. No more repetitive requests for home access. Thank you!

Cool @bisherbas! Maybe just removing that Keka.app and downloading it again was the solution... 👍

@aonez You're definitely right. I did remove the test version and installed from keka.io. All good!
