Loopback example (I2S DMA Target) on Max78000FTHR does not work

When running the example code, there is no audible sounds.
The problem seems to be that the codec isn't initialised properly. i tried it on two different MAX78000FTHR boards. It seems that the code is stuck in the max9867_init() function...
