We tried at AMDock to generate high-quality representations automatically. However, sometimes they won’t be at the most informative angle. Usually, after a few rotations, it is possible to get better visualization. We keep a black background for better contrast in the representation but a white background is always desirable for publications. The following recommendations should help you in getting a high-quality image for publication in PyMOL.
- Change background color: Display > Background > White
- Remove shadows: Settings > Rendering > Shadows > None
- Maximum quality representation: Display > Quality > Maximum Quality
- Rendering: Press the Ray button in the upper left corner or type into the command line area:
ray 2400, 2400
- Saving: File > Save Image As > PNG
