Open Forest design system

Open Forest uses its own brand of the US Web Design System (USWDS). The design system describes the visual language, using UI elements and style guidelines, upon which Open Forest applications can be built. Our design system starts with the US Web Design System, which is maintained by GSA's Technology Transformation Service and recommended by the the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act (IDEA), extends the USWDS to meet the needs of Open Forest.

You can find the Open Forest design system here.

When the Open Forest team creates new components to meet needs not currently covered by the existing design system, these components are usability tested and accessibility tested before they are added to the design system.
