Completely disable reels #134
Comments
Someone else had suggested a "nuclear mode" that disallows changing settings after the first use of the tweak. I might implement this, which would cover your need as well. |
what issue number would this nuclear mode be so I can follow it? @SoCuul |
Unfortunately the request was on another platform (if I'm not wrong, reddit), so there is no issue created yet. |
@veerravuri Sorry I know this is closed but https://github.com/Matsuui/SCInsta/tree/reels-off might be helpful until nuclear mode exists. I've removed the toggles for re enabling the reels tab and scrolling reels. |
this is great! do you have a built ipa or do I have to build it myself? I don't have xcode or anything installed :( |
I would recommend forking it and running the Github action to build it the same way you do for normal SCInsta, but if you need it I can upload a build. Make sure you select the reels-off branch when you run the action. |
thank you, it worked! |
@Matsuui I unfortunately already found a bypass :(. When opening a reel (let's say I follow an account that posts a reel) on the latest action that you pushed, I can click on the heart button on the top right to see what my friends have liked and it puts me to a new reel. I still can't scroll from there but I can still exit, tap the same icon and open a new reel. |
Is it possible for a custom version to be made to completely disable reels without the option to re-enable them? I find myself blocking reels but since disabling it is so easy I often come back and disable it and continue watching reels.
This has become a bad habit so I'm wondering if I can just block out reels entirely.
