Voice messages are not supported - shows error in the web page #51
Comments
I am just curious. There have been so many forks. Has someone already found this issue and fixed it in that fork? |
Sorry, the closure was by accident. |
You are right. It is exactly the same issue. I had developed a similar app using VB6 some years ago. I was puzzled when it didn't work on this export from Mac. Then I found the WhatsApp export from Mac has a different format from that of Android and my parsing routine failed. Incidentally, my app generates a simple html page in the directory in which the entire zip is extracted. Open the html and you have a similar result. If you like it, you may give a similar provision. Great job. |
I left the thread open just to enable you to post your comments on my thoughts, Thanks |
First of all, let me thank you for developing this excellent app for viewing WhatsApp exports. It does it so well and so quickly.
There is only one small feature missing. The voice messages (opus files) are not being supported.
Since your description said "In case you export a zip file with the option Attach Media, you will be able to see images, videos and audio files directly in the website. Try it out by downloading the example chat!", I downloaded your example file and checked. You have tested out using mp3 file. The voice messages are in OPUS format. Hence the issue.
Would be kind enough to address this issue?
Thanks
