Find md2py alternative

md2py (as of now) is incompatible with python 3.x.
I have ported enough of it locally on my computer to get the needed functionality, but this is far too complicated to expect end users to do themselves. An alternative needs to be found, preferably allowing for use of github's markdown styling (although not essential)

I will also make a pull request to md2py to make it python3 compliant, but I'm not sure if it's being actively maintained.
