This training was developed for staff at NGOs, individuals responsible for conducting monitoring and evaluation activities, and DHIS 2 beginners.
There are two paths:
- Self-guided full course on implementing and maintaining an instance of DHIS 2 from the beginning
- FAQ for users who have some experience with DHIS2 but need a task-based refresher or quick question answered.
The materials are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International unless clearly stated otherwise. Anyone is welcome to copy, revise, use and share these materials without restriction for commercial or non-commercial purposes as long as they give recognition to the authors.
The online curriculum contains videos, demonstrations, readings, and practice exercises to help you implement and use DHIS2. To keep all of your work in one place, we have created a curriculum workbook, available in the Code section of this site, along with a curriculum answer book, which will allow you to check your work as you go.
If you are taking this course as part of a DHIS2 QuickStart with LogicalOutcomes, you’ll meet once per week for 1.5 hours with a coach, and spend an additional ~2 hours per week on homework. The course lasts six weeks.
If you are following the curriculum on your own, you can set your own pace.
DHIS2 is a versatile, and open source, monitoring and evaluation system. However, it has many components, and therefore requires some patience and perseverance to learn. We want to share our experiences in learning DHIS2 to help other organizations increase their capacity to implement and manage a customized DHIS2 instance. We encourage you to use all resources available (the instructional team, readings and videos) to support your ongoing learning.
Start with the Overview of DHIS2. From there, follow the links on the right-hand side sequentially to complete each activity.
If you have questions or comments please contact DHIS2@logicaloutcomes.net.
All training materials are accessed through the Curriculum Wiki. To search the curriculum, please enter your search term in the box at the top, and hit Enter. When you see the message, “we couldn’t find any code matching X”, click on Wikis, and you will see the matching search results.
