Can we choose duplicate values?

I have a need for a component where the user can create a sequence. If options are A, B, C. I want to be able to choose A, B, A, as well as add a new custom value of D, E. I know the latter is already an option, but what about repeating already chosen values? I'm not seeing anything in the docs about this.
