---> idealized 1: The relevant changes to the original CM1 code were done using 2 new namelist parameters (iheat and icurl) to add the heat source and the vortex patch. The connected code is in solve.F and can be obtained from Fischer and Dahl (2020) and Fischer and Dahl (2022) supplemental material. 
---> idealized 2: Same using iheat (Fischer and Dahl 2020)
