Does this work outside of us-east-1?

The documentation says "You must use the AWS region "us-east-1".

Is it possible to use the PanCancer CLI in us-west-2 or does it only work in us-east-1?

I'll tag @SolomonShorser-OICR here.
Taking a quick look, it looks like "us-east-1" is just hard-coded in a few places and could be changed with a search and replace.

It should be possible to use this in other AWS regions, but there will be some work involved in replacing references to "us-east-1" to "us-west-2" (or whichever zone you prefer) using a simple search-and-replace as Denis suggested.

Also, please note that the workflow list (https://github.com/ICGC-TCGA-PanCancer/cli/blob/develop/config/workflowlist.json) references AMIs. They were created and used in us-east-1, and I am not sure if they will work in other AWS regions. You might be able to copy these images from us-east-1 to us-west-2 if you can't access them directly from us-west-2.
