how to remove date from posts

Ive noticed that when I dont include a date in my posts it will automatically add "Last updated on ".
how do I remove this if I dont want a "Date" or "Last updated" on my posts?

This is set in the page_metadata.html partial, on line 17, link: https://github.com/wowchemy/wowchemy-hugo-modules/blob/fa8e64327e1b3113670c40d767c0f40cc899e529/wowchemy/layouts/partials/page_metadata.html#L17

If you remove this, the date won't show up. But be aware that this partial control more than just posts. So it may cause problems else where on your site.
In any case. Place your modified file in your local file tree: ./layouts/partials/pag_metadata.html.

this works locally when I "serve" my site in R, but doesnt work on my website deployed via netlify. any idea why this would be?
the changes are there on my github and netlify deployed successfully.

I'm not using netlify myself, but my guess would be that netlify builds using the module import instead of your "local" theme folder. Why don't you use the module support to build locally as well?

And then place your modified partials in ./layouts/partials/

to be honest, im a biologist so my coding knowledge is limited to R. beyond that im just guessing with all of this. but creating this folder "./layouts/partials/" and copying the "page_metadata.html" into it worked!!! thanks!
