No style when deploying to custom server

Hi everyone,

When I use "hugo server" command, I get a really nice website with style and everything in local (with the academia theme). But when I only use the "hugo" command, I get a website without any style or images.
It is also the case, when I copy the content of the public folder to my web host.
It seems that the JS and CSS files get a 403 error but even in local my website is broken, as you can see here https://perso.telecom-paristech.fr/gonthier/

Do you have any idea please ?

Can you share the exact error you're getting?

You first say that in local everything is fine but then you say that even in local it's broken 🤷🏼

Thanks for your both answers but I can only copy paste files to the web host (provide by my university). Did I make something wrong when I build my website ?

Have you contacted your server admin? Your site is returning errors related to your server such as "Forbidden: You don't have permission to access this resource.Server unable to read htaccess file, denying access to be safe"

If it's a server from an University perhaps they have firewalls blocking resources. Better contact them @nicaogr

Another option is to use Github pages and point your uni DNS to GitHub, see https://docs.github.com/en/free-pro-team@latest/github/working-with-github-pages/configuring-a-custom-domain-for-your-github-pages-site.

This also means that you can setup an automatic deployment flow using Github Actions, https://github.com/peaceiris/actions-gh-pages.

Indeed, it was a problem of access on my University server. It is now solved.
I will try to use a Github page for automatic deployment.
