Playing 7k on ios is super laggy

whenever I play 7k on IOS, it lags to anywhere from 30-10fps. It spikes when there’s a lot of notes on the screen, so I think it corresponds to how many notes there are at once. Also, idk what I do for this to happen but I’ll be playing and all of the lanes and notes will just disappear, leaving me with just the background and a bunch of miss judgements. This also happens where the notes from a few lanes will not show but others will. I don’t know what’s up or if it’s with my browser or something, but it should work well because it’s fine on my friend’s ipad. However, they only play like 2 star 7k maps so they might not be putting as many notes on the screen as me.

Also i made an account just to comment this cuz I love your game and it’s amazing and i wish I could play it but now I’m stuck with Bemuse ;(

Thanks for the feedback, I've been trying to optimize the game but due to my inexperience with game development it's hard to figure out what more I can do :(
I'll continue looking for optimizations, but no promises on when I find any meaningful improvements
I'll also take a look at the other bugs, those are definitely strange

Now some beat maps just don’t download…like the bar doesn’t move. I also get a lot of parsing errors if the map does decide to download. I only got 1 map to work out of like 10 that I tried. And I was trying 4k maps, not 7k which might take a little more power.

All maps seem to download and load fine for me. Which maps are you trying to load? Have you tried switching to a different beatmap provider in the settings?

I’m trying to load a lot of 4k maps, one of them is daddy can change by goreshit. I will try changing the provider.

I just tested that map and it works perfectly well on both my PC and Android phone. At this point, maybe it's your network? Are you certain your network isn't blocking anything? If possible, see if you get the same problems on another wifi network. Otherwise, try 2 things:

1. If you think your network may be blocking the beatmap providers, turn on proxy downloads.
2. If that doesn't work, you could try downloading beatmaps and uploading the beatmap you want to play (though this is much less convenient)

K! I think the proxy will help since i’m now getting error load failed so that’s probably it

Nvm the bar still gets stuck at like 1% at the downloading screen and I have to reload to get back to the map select page. And if it does download, I get a parsing error. 😭

Have you tried the site on other devices? I get the feeling it's something specific to your phone since you said it works fine on your friend's iPad. That should mean this site works for iOS (I don't use Apple so I can't test it myself)

I also have an IPad, all of these errors I am reporting have occurred on my IPad. Me and my friend in question have the same exact school-issued IPad. It works fine on my computer at home, but I can only use my IPad at school, and that’s the main time that I play your game since I have osu! and quaver and interlude on my home PC.

Oh I see... it's so odd that it works for your friend but not you despite both using the iPads. I'd think that the issue is specific to your iPad then. Sorry, I'm not sure what exactly could be causing the issue, but maybe try checking the storage isn't full or check settings that might affect downloads?
