Come to talk about Code, Data, Tools and Science in a social environment.
If you want to know how computational tools and code can improve your science/work or you just want to meet “open scienc-y” people: join us.
The event is open to everyone. No prior knowledge required. No registration etc. needed.

# When and Where
We'll meet monthly **every fourth Wednesday at 5 pm** for one and a half hours in the [Makerspace Giessen](https://makerspace-giessen.de/).

Please bring your own computer, as we cannot provide any resources in this regard and then can also work through installations.

# HackyHour Gießen

## Was ist die HackyHour?
Wir treffen uns einmal im Monat in lockerer Atmosphäre und tauschen uns über Code, Daten, Tools und Wissenschaft aus. Die HackyHour ist offen für alle Interessierten und man kann einfach vorbeischauen ohne sich vorher anzumelden. Die Themen variieren von mal zu mal. [Unten](#kommende-termine) findest du eine Liste anstehender und vergangener Termine.

Die Vorträge werden auf Deutsch gehalten. So wollen wir Barrieren im technischen Bereich abbauen und einsteigerfreundlich bleiben. [Früher waren unsere Termine auf Englisch, jetzt auf Deutsch.]

Florian hat die HackyHour bei einem [Vortrag][coffee] mal auf Englisch erklärt.

## Wann und wo?
Jeden vierten Mittwoch um 17 Uhr für ca. eineinhalb Stunden im [Makerspace Giessen](https://makerspace-giessen.de/). Mehr zur [Anfahrt](https://makerspace-giessen.de/allgemeines/#anfahrt).

Ihr müsst nichts mitbringen. Falls ihr ein Laptop habt, bringt es gerne mit; es gibt bestimmt etwas auszuprobieren!

## Kommende Termine

Zusätzlich zu der immer möglichen offenen Diskussion, versuchen wir immer über mindestens ein spezifisches Thema zu reden. Dazu führt meistens eine Person in das Thema ein und dann ist Zeit für Fragen und Diskussion. Wenn du auch etwas vortragen möchtest, melde dich gerne bei uns (siehe Kontakt unten).

# HackyHour Giessen

## What is the HackyHour?

We meet once a month in a relaxed atmosphere and talk about code, data, tools and science. The HackyHour is open to anyone interested and you can simply drop by without registering in advance. The topics vary from time to time. Below you can find a list of [upcoming](#upcoming-dates) and [past dates](#past-dates).

The presentations will be held in German. In this way, we want to break down barriers in the technical area and remain beginner-friendly.

Florian once explained the HackyHour in English during a [Coffee Lecture][coffee].

## When and Where

Every fourth Wednesday at 5 pm for about one and a half hours in the [Makerspace Giessen](https://makerspace-giessen.de/).[ More on how to get there](https://makerspace-giessen.de/allgemeines/#anfahrt).

You don't need to bring anything. If you have a laptop, bring it along; there's bound to be something to try out!

## Upcoming dates

In addition to the open discussion that is always possible, we always try to talk about at least one specific topic. Usually one person introduces the topic and then there is time for questions and discussion. If you would also like to present something, please get in touch with us (see contact below).
