王阳明所倡导的“心即是理”的学说,一言以蔽之,即:圣人之道,吾性自足,向外物寻求理实大误。详细说来便是自己的心性是为人的根本标准,不应向外界的事物寻求其他的“理”。因此王阳明认为“格物”是在视、听、言、动、思五事之中。“致知”是致向人生来固有的良知。 | ||

学无内外,格物其实就是格一个人心中之物。正心者其实就是正一个人的心。以理之凝聚而言,这就是所谓的性;以其主宰而言,则就是我们常言的心;以其主宰的发动者而言,更确切地说属于意的范畴;以其发动之明觉而言,则上升到更高阶段的知;以其明觉之感应而言,则回归到我们常言的物。因此对于物而言,我们只能去格;就知而言,我们常说的是致(良知);就意而言,可以称作是诚;就心而言,则需要正。我们常所谓‘穷理以尽性’,这就是其中的一个功能。天下无性外之理,也即没有性外之物。学之不明,其缘由是世儒都认为理为内,认为物为外,因此将反观内省与讲习讨论分为两回事,所以就有了朱陆学说的分歧。但是回到陆象山的致知学说上而言,其实也未尝是专事于内。与他相对的朱晦庵所倡导的格物,也未尝就专事于外,这些都需要辩证结合着来看。 | ||

如果我们不进行辩解,这样就可以免除诽谤。更何况今日的局面远远比这复杂得多。四方英杰,每个人的学问都不相同,议论纷纷,又有谁有绝对把握可以战胜呢?我们没有必要动不动就标榜自己正确,诋毁别人错误,认为别人愚蠢自己聪明。我们既然对自己的学问感到自信,则更加有必要变得谦虚谨慎,谨言慎行。世间所谓的默而成之,就是不言却能使人信服。更何况是今日多口多舌的复杂情景,我们完全没有必要砥砺切磋,非要争个你对我错!而且一旦议论之风出现,势必会有私怨产生,也就会有人为了捍卫自己的信仰产生口舌之争,这一切都是没有必要的! |
