What is the CT?

The Common Theme is a project

  • to unify the branches of the SCP Foundation to use the same basic theme
  • to be able to easily provide updates and new developments to all users of the CT
  • to be able to easily share advancements and custom features of one branch with all branches
  • to have a flexible basis for extensions, new features and custom themes
  • to provide compatibility for custom themes and exchangeability between different branches
  • to update the Theme at least partly to current standards

Currently it is a one-man project, made without any knowledge in web-design and with procedurally self-taught CSS knowledge. But that is not how it has to be, joining forces to further develop the CT to a modern, versatile and yet flexible and backwards-compatible theme is most welcome, as well as sharing the space for more branch-specific developments.

Features

  • Bugfixes
  • Ordered, sorted and optimized source code for easier access by CSS-noobs
  • CSS Variables
  • A variety of new custom formatting classes
  • Vector images for all header and menu graphics
  • Implementation of various branches' custom features
  • No more use of external resources (except GitHub)
  • Support for mods like nested topbar menus, images in the topbar, collabsible sidebar menus
  • Extensions like visual forum enhancements
  • Dark mode

Known issues

  • There is currently no full compatibility with the Black Highlighter theme and especially its sub-themes.
  • After installation, custom themes may be bugged and need to be updated. Especially when you have made lots of customizations to your theme (unless they are already implemented in the CT)
  • The Dark Mode does not work in the forums. This is caused by Wikidot's forums as well as the Dark Mode relying on the pages' URL.
