Fixing (self-inflicted) brokeness on Julia 1.0.x

Should also be some code to get Travis running correctly on 0.6.x .
(Don't get these problems with trying to pull in the not-yet-existing libraries locally, strangely. Not sure if I'm using an optimal version number.)
