Feature description

Please add drag-drop functionality so that we can easily drag events from one day to another.

Having to tap on an event and manually change its date is a real pain in the neck.

Thanks!

Why do you want this feature?

Convenience.

It's already available in the weekly view. In other views it wouldn't make sense.

Not sure I'd go so far as saying that it doesn't make sense, one could argue to the contrary, that it's inconsistent to have drag and drop in the weekly view but not in the monthly view, why not?

My job requires me to plan things months ahead so I find myself constantly using the monthly view to create and consult future events, the nature of the job means that these events frequently need date changes so I'm constantly moving things around weeks and months ahead, the only view that's comfortable for doing this is the monthly one, unless I'm using this thing wrong and there's another way...

I think plenty of others also use the calendar in a similar way to me (shifting events around months ahead), it's not that strange a use case, so I would say that drag and drop in the monthly view would be a great feature! Please consider implementing it, other calendar apps have it.

In the monthly view, events are so small that we wouldn't be able to keep a minimum touch area. That's why tapping a day doesn't open a specific event but a daily view.

I've played around with the weekly view and drag and drop is fine, but it's limited to just that week! (or fortnight I think)

If I drag an event to the edge wouldn't it be an idea if the next week slides into screen? That way I can shift an event two, three, four or five weeks forwards or backwards. Could we consider that a reasonable feature to implement?

And regarding the monthly view, the minimum touch area is fine, if there's one event on that day it can be conveniently dragged to wherever you want, however, if there's a list of events on that day, just let the first one be dragged out. If the user needs to change the date for an event further down the list then they'll just have to go in and do it the old fashioned way by entering a new date.

I think it's important to have your monthly view consistent with the weekly one, plus, it's super convenient to drag events around in the monthly view, I think a lot of users would appreciate this.

Yeah, that's a bug(ish). Please consider reporting it as such.

In the monthly view, events are so small that we wouldn't be able to keep a minimum touch area

However, if we go to the weekly view, zoom out to the maximum until all the hours can be seen and we open out the day-range to the maximum of 14, we now have events that have an even smaller touch area than in the monthly view, however we are perfectly able to drag them around...

I really hope I'm not being a bother, nothing is further from my intention, I want to help out and improve the app for everyone. I'd like to see this drag/drop functionality in the monthly view, I think you guys are capable of engineer it and making it happen.

Would you not consider this as an enhancement?
