change of owner for feature layer

We have used the ArcGis Online Assistant to change the owner of web maps and apps from a user within our organization to an external user in a different organization. This process appeared to work, as the content is now found in the external user's Arc GIS Online account and they are listed as owner.

However, the feature layers within the web map are still listed with the original owner.

We tried to use the function, "Update the URLs of services in a webmap" by pointing to a copy of the original shapefile (a polygon layer) in the new user's account. The update indicates "Success" and the URLs are listed correctly when logging in to ArcGIS Online Assistant. But the owner listed for those feature layers (which were part of the shapefile published as a feature service), still retains the original owner's name.

Is there any way to clear this up? We can't be sure if the transfer of ownership is completed...
