Download the DeusEx.u file

Then copy the DeusEx.u file into your Deus Ex\System\ folder, which is probably C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex\System (make a backup of the original DeusEx.u).

Download Lay D Denton version 1.1 or newer from here

Install Lay D Denton by copying all the files into your Deus Ex folder.

Download Deus Ex Randomizers's DeusEx.u file

Then copy Deus Ex Randomizers's DeusEx.u file into your Deus Ex\System\ folder, which is probably C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex\System. This will overwrite the DeusEx.u file from Lay D Denton.

For GMDX v10

Make sure to use the DeusEx.u file from the original game for co-op.

First download and install HX-0.9.89.4.zip from https://builds.hx.hanfling.de/testing/

Then copy HXRandomizer.u and HXRandomizer.int into the System directory of the game.

HXRandomizer is in early alpha testing and does not support all of the features that the single player vanilla randomizer has.

Changes

  • Goal location randomization completely rewritten with way more randomized goal locations, check the updated wiki https://github.com/Die4Ever/deus-ex-randomizer/wiki/Goal-Randomization
    • Improvements such as some things being mutually exclusive, such as:
      • no longer putting the terrorist commander too close to your starting location
      • no longer putting the drug dealer in Rooks territory
    • Additional goals now randomized:
      • Liberty Island boat
      • Warehouse generator and computer
      • VersaLife employees
      • In the return to New York: Vinny, Harley Filben, and Joe Greene
      • Nicolette DuClare
      • OceanLab UC schematics computer
      • Missile Silo Jock
  • Fixed some doors not disappearing when destroyed
  • Electricity and lasers no longer blocked by Death Markers
  • Electricity no longer blocked by smoke
  • Laser alarms no longer triggered by the randomizer placing large crates in their path at the start of the level
  • Fixed bingo event for learning Maggie Chow's birthday, along with a tweet about it if you have Online Features enabled
  • Also added a tweet for learning Jenny's phone number if you have Online Features enabled
  • Credits improvements
    • Bingo sheet shown in credits

    • In addition to tracking game time, we also track real time (screenshot was made with an old save that did not have this tracking, so all the real times are 0)

  • Added extra crates in 02_NYC_WAREHOUSE in order to climb the ladder to go back
  • Area 51 goal for fusion reactors shows how many you have remaining
  • Maggie Chow's Buddha statue secret door now works again
  • 09_NYC_SHIPBELOW ventilation fan can now be disabled and enabled from the computer overlooking it
  • 15_AREA51_PAGE door_clone_exit is no longer breakable so it properly flies across the room
  • Fixed shaking in outro sequence from Silo and during the Helios ending
  • Improved credits speed adjustments (with up and down arrow keys)
  • When healing individual body parts, remaining healing is automatically applied elsewhere instead of being wasted
  • More Crowd Control effects (pending acceptance by the Crowd Control devs): give full energy, earthquake, trigger alarms, flipped, limp neck, barrel roll, flashbang, eat beans, fire weapon, next item, quick load, quick save, spawn friendly, next HUD color, and spawn enemy
  • Crowd Control hide crosshair in 3rd person mode, and also showing the highlight boxes for items

Loading
