A service exists in France that I have not seen in Norway, to easily prepare a newsletter with pictures and short texts that can be printed and sent to the grand-parents (or whoever) by snail mail:

  • an account is created for let's say a grand mother. It gets a specific family code.
  • the whole family (for us: 7 cousins) can have access to the same account using the family code
  • they can upload pictures and short texts, from the website or the app on the phone. The environment is private to the family with the family code. The pictures are cropped to a specific format, and the text size is limited so that the layout of the newsletter can be done automatically.
  • at the chosen intervall (1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month) a pdf newsletter is generated and sent by email to all contributors.
  • Then all they have to do is that one member prints it and sends it by normal mail. For the grand-parents that are in a retirement home the email could be sent directly there.
  • It also helps the family itself to keep in touch with each other because we all see what the other persons posted.
    I'm really glad I found this service, so it would be nice if Norwegian people could have that too!

  • Project title: Familiblad
  • Context: It is very easy to stay connected to friends and family, even from far away, thanks to Facebook, WhatsApp or by email. However people not connected to the internet (for example the elderly) are more isolated than before and get less news from their family.
  • Task description: Build a web-app and mobile app so that several family members can upload pictures and news in a private account, which are automatically and periodically transformed in a pdf newsletter and sent to the family members. One of them can then print it and send it to the family member which does not have internet.
  • Final goal: working website + mobile app
  • Needs: Developer Back-end (database) + Front-End Mobile app + Front-End Web app
