One area of interest is whether a particular subset of R-loops is associated with chromosomal rearrangements and mutations. Two interesting ways of exploring this question are:

  • Calculate the Class I/II ratio across all sites and then compare with sites of rearrangements / mutations. Do we see an increase with either type?
  • Compare R-loop consensus sites with chromosomal rearrangement and mutation sites -- do we see a particular subset of R-loops enriched?
