How to install device update for Iothub in Centos7

I am having problems trying to install device update in a mv with centos7. Because there is no documentation about it.

It's not currently supported yet but is on the backlog. It is supported by packages.microsoft.com repository centos7 in particular here. I've opened the following github issue to track this request as we've had some interest for RHEL and CentOS before:

If instructions were provided, would you be willing to build from sources as a short-term workaround? Here is some docs on building the dependencies from sources.
I'm not entirely sure if ./scripts/install-deps.sh -a will work OOB on centos, but if it does succeed, then one can build the DU agent from sources with: ./scripts/build.sh -c -u --type MinSizeRel

Even if the agent can be built as above on centos7, there's still the matter of building the DO agent service (the above install-deps.sh builds the libdeliveryoptimization.so client SDK library only).

My initial guess is that DO Client will likely need a PR to make it's python build script not do Debian-specific things like installing dependencies like libboost libs with apt-get but instead use yum if on redhat/centos, etc.

I'll give it a go later today on a kvm/qemu vm with centos7 ISO and report back.

The install-deps script on centos7 did not work for me as it's assuming Debian apt is available instead of yum. Feel free to try building using https://github.com/Azure/iot-hub-device-update/blob/main/docs/agent-reference/how-to-build-agent-code.md#installing-dependencies and share any gaps.

Likely will want to do this first:

yum install centos-release-scl-rh
yum install devtoolset-8-toolchain
scl enable devtoolset-8 bash
which gcc
gcc --version

Adding support for centos/rhel is being tracked but there is no timeline for it.
