The intent of the AV-circle-ID font is to be able to turn on contextual alternates and have digits (and possibly latin words) ringed from font magic, instead of manipulating the font style in the app as the AV-CircleNumberFaces font requires.

I understand drawing glyphs. I understand basics of opentype tables. but the calt method is not clear, and I don't have any examples that I understand well enough what SHOULD happen so I can implement it here.
