The direction of Bristlecone and planned features are listed in this issue.

Planned features

• Support for variable-time models #19 Fully enable models to be run on time-series that has variable time-steps, such as that derived from sediment core age-depth models.
• Use labels to compute individual model components and debug model behaviour #28
• NOAA palaeo-data service type provider #26 Direct access to the NOAA palaeo-data service from within bristlecone.
• Table-based console output for when running many work packages #27 Easier to understand and follow summary information of the progress of in-progress analyses from the terminal.
• Time-series should be able to use various dating modes #29

Planned documentation enhancements

• Example in docs of use in dendroecology, including day-length, environmental conditions, and environmental resources.

Release plans

• v2.0.0 - April 2024. This release includes the new language for writing models. All known bugs and oustanding work will be documented in github issues by release.
