Release 2.19.1.0 #330
Comments
Thanks for creating the ticket @rursprung ! |
@lukas-vlcek: do you (the maintainers of the plugin; not necessarily you personally) have an ETA for the release? as stated in my opening comment i think it's important to get this out of the door rather than wait for new features to be added - however close to the finishing line they might be. they can always be added afterwards and released as 2.19.0.1 (or the inevitable 2.19.1.0) |
Hi @lukas-vlcek (and other maintainers :) ) |
i took the liberty of repurposing the 2.19.0 issue for 2.19.1 since that's out now. with this out i doubt that anyone still has a need for 2.19.0 and it can probably be skipped safely |
OpenSearch 2.19.1 has been released, see release notes.
Official OpenSearch release ticket: opensearch-project/opensearch-build#5323
important: the 2.18.0.0 release of the plugin is also still missing: #317 as well as the 2.19.0.0 release (was this issue; but with 2.19.1 out i doubt that anyone still cares about 2.19.0)
2.19.0 is the last minor release on 2.x, but patch releases will follow (see also opensearch-project/.github#250).
IMHO the 2.18.0 and 2.19.1 (2.19.0) support should be released as soon as possible (i.e. now), any planned extensions (as mentioned in #317) can always come in a follow-up plugin release (e.g. 2.19.1.1) and shouldn't block the version compatibility.
on a related note: once opensearch-project/OpenSearch#17178 has been merged (and possibly cherry-picked to 2.19.x) these releases should be a lot less frequent once you adapted to this.
